Biography

Dan Navarro was born on September 14, 1952 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Daniel Anthony Navarro, to Gabriel Navarro, a publicist and boxing matchmaker in the '40's and early '50's, and, later, a retail merchant, and Josephine Navarro, also a retail merchant alongside her husband. At the age of four, his family relocated to Calexico, CA, where he lived until high school graduation. He attended UCLA, majoring in music, singing with the UCLA Men's Glee Club and playing French Horn in the UCLA Marching and Concert Bands. After finishing college, he embarked on a songwriting career, with cuts by Pat Benatar (the smash hit "We Belong"), written with Eric Lowen, plus songs for The Bangles, Dave Edmunds, Dionne Warwick, The Triplets Dutch superstar Marco Borsato, Japanese girl group Wink, soap star Jacob Young and many more. His acoustic duo Lowen & Navarro recorded 14 albums between 1990 and 2008. In 1988, he began singing in Spanish language jingles, which broadened over time to vocals
