Biography

John Hamilton made his first professional sale at age of 19 when legendary producer Milton Subotsky optioned a 15-page treatment for a gritty thriller called Dead City. Hamilton graduated on to journalism and film criticism, writing for a number of newspapers, magazines and periodicals on both sides of the Atlantic on subjects as diverse as Diana Dors, Robin Askwith and Roman Polanski. After contributing to a number of books, he wrote 'Beasts in the Cellar' - which Film Review called 'a thrilling read...glorious stuff' and SFX magazine hailed it as 'the best ever single subject book in the field of British horror cinema. It went on to appear on the The Independent's Top Books List. Since then he has completed two more books both published in 2009. Hamilton has written a number of documentaries and his first full screenplay went into production from FGS Productions, shooting on locations in East London and Pinewood Studios. His second script has been optioned by Image 10 Entertainment
