Biography

Meteorologist Dave Murray was born on October 3, 1956. Mr Murray attended the University of Rhode Islad where he majored in coastal forecasting. He also studied for his Master's in thunderstorm forecasting at the University of Wyoming. He earned degrees from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Dave Murray began his broadcasting career at age 22 and at 24 he joined St. Louis's NBC affiliate KSDK-TV where he remained until 1983 when ABC network executives hired him to be the new Chief Meteorologist/Weathercaster for both "Good Morning America" with David Hartman and Joan Lunden, and "World News This Morning" with Steve Bell. Over time Dave Murray missed the challenges and excitement of sever weather forecasting that is so prevalent in the Midwest. Murray remained in New York until 1989 when St. Louis's then ABC affiliate, KTVI-TV, offered him the position of chief meteorologist. He remained with KTVI through it's affiliation change f
