Biography

Esteban Roel A Mexican actor, director, producer and entrepreneur. He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon (Mexico). He worked in Theatre, mainly exploring the area of Improvisation. In 1991 he founded, along with Hector Bonilla, the Latin American Improvisation League (LLI) where great actors arose, both for the Mexican scene as well as for films and television. In 1995 he moves to Madrid (Spain) with a Manolo Fabregas scholarship, and later moves to Venezia (Italy). He shortly returns to his country but moves back to Madrid in 1997, where he settles to create the Madrid Film Institute (Instituto del Cine de Madrid) Among his collaborators is Juanfer Andrés, with whom he has co-directed three short films and the film "Shrew's Nest", produced by Alex de la Iglesia. In 2017 opens a second Film Institute in Las Palmas (Canary Islands) He has performed, directed and produced theatre both in Mexico and Spain.
