Biography

Abe was born in Mesa, Arizona on January 2nd 1978, and raised in South Scottsdale and Tempe, Arizona. His father was a writer, and his mother was a school teacher. He studied Uechi Ryu karate at a young age, and achieved a brown belt at age 9. Abe began acting and playing in punk rock bands at age 14 as a freshman at McClintock high school in Tempe, AZ, where he received his nickname Abe from his band mates. Acting and music quickly became his entire focus. He credits his high school theater teacher, Jim Fountain, for igniting his love of acting. After high school Abe received a Reagents scholarship to Arizona State University for Theater, but he dropped out after one semester. He then acted in 2 community theater productions and then took a hiatus from acting for several years and shifted all his focus to music. Abe's band the Slash City Daggers released the critically acclaimed album 'Backstabber Blues', produced by punk legend Jeff Dahl, in September 2001 when he was 22 years old.
