Biography

Fabienne Carat was born in Pau in the southwest of France, and was raised in a middle-class household in a quiet french suburb. Her mother, was a teacher, and her father was an electronician. She discovered theater at the age of eleven and entered the 'Coté Cour' acting class in Paris at the age of 21. She began performing in numerous theatre productions and short films. In 2000, a casting director gave her her first part in a major feature, Would I Lie to You? 2 (2001), the sequel to the 1997 french comedy hit Would I Lie to You? (1997) starring Richard Anconina and Gad Elmaleh, directed by Thomas Gilou. After graduating from acting school, she auditioned for a part she saw in a paper ad for the series Bin'o Bine (2004) and landed the leading part. After 42 episodes on the series, she was told by a fellow cast member about Plus belle la vie (2004), a new daily drama on France 3 that was picking up in the ratings and that was looking for new faces.
