Biography

Marshall Tyler is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and TV director. His first short, Night Shift, premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was awarded the Gold Hugo Grand Jury Award at the 2017 Chicago International Film Festival. His second short, Cap a beautiful black and white documentary-hybrid was awarded Best Narrative Short at the HBO/American Black Film Festival Short Film Competition and was subsequently licensed by HBO. His recent short, Slow Pulse starring Jimmie Fails (Last Black Man of San Francisco) won Best Narrative Short at the 2022 Pan African Film Festival and premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival while also airing on CBS primetime as part of the NAACP Image award-nominated program 8:46 Films, commissioned by Procter & Gamble. Marshall's episodic credits include 911 (Angela Bassett) for FOX, City on a Hill (Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge) for Showtime and Leverage (Gina Bellman, Noah Wyle) for Amazon Freevee.
