Biography

Best-known to daytime television viewers as tactless but kindly receptionist Valerie Pitman in the long-running 'Doctors' Sarah was born on 14th September 1969 and gained a BA in Performing Arts at the University of Middlesex before spending a further six months studying drama at the State University of New York. From 1988 to 1991 she was a member of the National Youth Theatre and even acted as escort to Prince Edward at a NYT ball. She made her stage debut in 1992 in a play called 'Lust' before treading the boards in several West End musicals including 'Oliver', 'Les Miserables', 'The Rocky Horror Show' and in 2015 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'. She also spent a season (2004-2005) at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough under the direction of Sir Alan Ayckbourn and has performed with the National Theatre in 'She Stoops to Conquer' and at the Royal Court in 'Jerusalem' along with its transfer to Broadway.
