Mike Colter

Mike Colter studied theatre at the University of South Carolina before earning an MFA from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. He built a career through auditions and early ensemble television roles, working steadily from 2002 onward. His approach involves immersing in the character’s point of view, followed by shaping physical presence and wardrobe in collaboration with directors and creatives. He has moved between serialized television drama, motion-capture and voice performance, as well as network and streaming series, working closely with creators across formats. In recent film collaborations, he engaged in action-driven sequences and hand-to-hand choreography, working alongside performers like Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg.
