Queens of the Stone Age is an American alternative rock band formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California. The band has released seven studio albums and has won several awards for their live performances. Their best selling album "Songs for the Deaf" was a critical hit and was certified gold in 2003, with sales of over 900,000.
