Biography

STEVE GUNDERSON Born in San Diego, California, studied in London, England, and lived in New York City in the 1980s and 1990s. He currently divides his time between San Diego and his home in Los Angeles. He co-created (with Melinda Gilb and Bryan Scott) and starred in Off Broadway's Suds, which broke box office records at regional theatres such as Old Globe Theatre and Actors Theatre of Louisville. He also co-created (with Kathy Najimy) Off Broadway's Back To Bacharach and David, which was revived in Los Angeles with the participation of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. He co-wrote (with National Book Award winner Amy Gerstler) and composed the score for The Artificial Woman, for which he received the 2016 Creative Catalyst Grant. With Javier Velasco he created Everybody's Talkin: The Music of Harry Nilsson which had it's World Premiere at San Diego Repertory Theatre starring Tony Award winners Gregory Jbara and Alice Ripley.
