Biography

Singer Linda Thompson was born Linda Uberherr on September 21, 1948 in Germany. Linda started her singing career in the late 60s, as a member of the Comely Sisters. Thompson later was a singer for Love Generation in 1972 and was a member of the Les Humphries Singers for several years in the early 70s. In 1975, Thompson joined the hugely successful disco trio, Silver Convention. Silver Convention had enormous hits in the mid-70s, with the classic disco songs, "Fly, Robin, Fly" and "Get Up and Boogie". She left the group in the summer of 1976, following disagreements with producers Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze. Linda had a minor solo hit with the bouncy "Ooh What a Night" in 1975. Thompson recorded several singles on the "Jupiter Records" label that included two duets with session singer Jerry Rix.
