Biography

Christopher Tin was born on May 21st, 1976 in Redwood City, CA to immigrant parents from Hong Kong. He is a two-time Grammy-winning composer, best known for his song 'Baba Yetu' from the video game Civilization IV, which was the first piece of music from a video game ever to win a Grammy award. He received his undergraduate education at Stanford University and Oxford University, studying Music Composition, Conducting, and English Literature. After winning a Fulbright Scholarship, he continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London. There, he earned an MMus with Distinction, graduating with the highest marks in his class, and winning the Horovitz Composition Prize. He is also a Sundance Institute fellow.
