Biography

Neshe Demir grew up in Kempten, Germany. After her secondary school education, Neshe Demir attended the acting school Gmelin Studio in Munich where with her graduation in 1999 she was awarded the Lore-Bronner-Prize for best young actress in Upper Bavaria. Numerous theatre and television engagements followed, including "Zeit der Wünsche" (Grimme Audience Award, 2005) and "Prinzessin" (First Steps Award, 2006). From 2005, Neshe Demir accomplished a directing degree at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, during which she realized several short films and a medium-length documentary "Klimpere nie!". She completed her studies in 2011 with the feature-length documentary "Shanghai-Crab". Following her degree Demir increasingly worked as an actress, i.a. in the short film "Annunciation" she played the female lead role (Nomination for the Oscar 44th Student Academy Awards, 2017), for which she also developed the script.
