Biography

Sasha Cohen was born Alexandra Pauline Cohen on October 26 1984, in Westwood, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Her mother, Galina Feldman, is a Jewish immigrant from Ukraine & a former ballerina. Her father, Roger Cohen, is a Jewish American business consultant who used to practice law. She was named after her mother's favorite ballerina & goes by Sasha, the Ukrainian nickname for Alexandra. She began skating at 7 & by 15, had won the silver at the U.S. National Championships. She competed at the 2002 Olympics, placing 4th. She placed 4th at the 2002 & 2003 Worlds. She won the silver at the 2004 Worlds. She has also won 3 silvers & a bronze at Nationals. She won silver at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She starred in the 2007 feature film, Moondance Alexander (2007), along w/ Don Johnson, Lori Loughlin, Kay Panabaker, James Best & Whitney Sloan.
