Biography

Born in suburban Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. As a youth, Corey was an avid reader and movie watcher. As a teen he made short films and skits with his friends and siblings around the neighborhood. Attended Harrisburg Arts Magnet School, where he studied Broadcast Journalism and Production on both sides of the camera, producing and anchoring programs on local ABC affiliate and cable-access channels. During this time he also wrote the teleplay "She Cried," which won a national Scholastic award. Though he held dozens of part-time jobs growing up, it was stints at Blockbuster Video and Hollywood Video that helped inspire Corey's love of cinema. A Division I student athlete at Towson University on the Track and Cross Country teams, Corey majored in Mass Communication with a focus on Film Studies, while minoring in Theatre.
