Biography

Originally a classically trained theater actor from Cleveland, OH, he earned his BFA Theater degree (English minor) from Kent State University. His senior Honors thesis, 'Directing Postmodern Ibsen,' presented Dave's adaptation of An Enemy of the People, and featured modern dance, a techno soundtrack, and non-linear staging. While at Kent -- where 4 students were shot and killed by the National Guard on May 4th, 1970 for protesting the war in Vietnam -- he also developed a great respect for the power the arts have in shining on light on social, economic & racial injustice. After gaining experience in several Cleveland-area films and theater (including his own postmodern performance group 'boygirl productions') he relocated to Hollywood in order to pursue expanded acting opportunities.
