Biography

Dean Budnick is the director of Wetlands Preserved: The Story of An Activist Rock Club. Budnick, the editor-in-chief of Relix magazine, holds a Ph.D. from Harvard's History of American Civilization program where he wrote his doctoral dissertation on the career and legal trials of silent screen star Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. He is the author of the novel Might As Well (Rare Bird Books, 2016) and the co-author of John Popper's autobiography, Suck and Blow (Da Capo, 2016). His other books include Ticket Masters: The Rise of the Concert Industry and How the Public Got Scalped (Plume 2011, ECW 2010), and Jambands: A Complete Guide to the Players Music and Scene (Backbeat Books, 2004). He is the founder of the website Jambands.com, the co-creator of the Jammy Awards. For many years he co-hosted Jam Nation on SiriusXM where he continues to make guest DJ slots.
