Biography

Karl Hamann was born in Los Angeles and has lived in both northern and southern California. He has worked with directors J.J. Abrams (Alias), and David Dobkin (Mr. Woodcock), and has appeared in network television series as well in a number of independent features. He fell in love with the theater when he was stage manager of a 1,300 seat school theater, working with national touring companies such as The Martha Graham Dance Company and National Theater for the Deaf. At the University of California, Berkeley, he was a founding member of The Yam Complex, an independent student group writing, producing and performing plays and street theater. He also co-founded and co-directed an improvisational ensemble class inspired by The Open Theater, Grotowski, and Het Werkteater of Amsterdam.
