Biography

Renata Pinheiro, graduated in Visual Arts, has the visual construction as the main element of the narrative in her films. Her first feature film, Love, Plastic and Noise (official selection of IndieLisboa - 2014) won more than 15 awards, including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Art Direction at the Brasília Film Festival (2013) and Best film at the Brafftv festival (Canadá), Best film by Abracine (BR), among others. Superbarroco, her first short film, was selected for Quinzaine des Réalisateurs - Cannes (2009) and has won more than 30 awards throughout its career. She also signs the art direction of the film Zama by Argentine's director Lucrecia Martel. The film won Best Art Direction at 39 Festival Internacional Del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano (2017) Cuba; Argentinean Film Critics Association Awards 2018; Fenix Film Awards and The Platino Awards for Iberoamerican Cinema 2018.
