Sarah Shahi began her screen career after serving as an extra on Dr. T and the Women, where director Robert Altman encouraged her to move to Hollywood. She then secured small television roles in crime and mystery TV series. Her career advanced with a recurring role as Carmen de la Pica Morales on The L Word, before she took on a lead role in Life as Detective Dani Reese. She carried forward into a lead part in Fairly Legal, spanning two seasons. She expanded into the procedural genre as Sameen Shaw on Person of Interest, before entering the streaming era with lead roles in Sex/Life and in the series Paradise. Her film work includes supporting parts in Black Adam and Red, White & Royal Blue, reflecting movement across mediums and collaboration with established franchises.
