Biography

Avi Youabian is a proud immigrant and father of three. He and his family fled to the U.S. after the Iran / Iraq war. Moving to Los Angeles he developed an obsession with making short films with his younger brother. Avi began working as an editor at the age of 17, and over the course of his career, his directing and editing work has spanned across features, television series, documentaries, and several pilots that have gone straight to series. He directed the award-winning digital series, Tainted Love - a gritty live action series that was recognized by Variety as one of the "Top 10 Digital Series of 2013." He's closely collaborated with filmmakers including Greg Berlanti, Gary Fleder, John Wells, Brad Anderson, David Goyer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Jon M. Chu. His directing credits include the 2018 Emmy nominated The Walking Dead: Red Machete, Netflix's Another Life, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, and multiple episodes of the critically acclaimed All American.
