Matthew Gray Gubler

Matthew Gray Gubler is an American actor, filmmaker, director, model, painter, and author whose artistic formation combined formal training in acting and film-direction. He studied acting at the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, and later earned a degree in film directing from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. While at NYU, he was discovered by a modeling scout and worked for agencies and brands, which marked his entry into the professional entertainment industry. Soon after, he accepted an internship that led to his first screen role—this transition from modeling and study to acting opened paths into both film and television. Gubler expanded his scope beyond acting: he directed and edited episodes of television, created short mockumentaries, and explored other media such as writing and illustration.
