Media titan & superstar Joe Bonilla was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1968. His debut came very early in 1993 when he was selected to join the upstart Circle of Trust organization. By 1995, he had become the President of the organization as well as still a competitor. His vice-president, Quentin Lawrence, left the company to start his AWF brand. From 1996 to 2000, Lawrence vs. Bonilla was one of the biggest stores in MLSE. In 1997, he created GWF Monday Night Attitude (1997) for his COT brand to compete with the AWF. On January 1, 1998, he changed the name of the COT to the today's Global Wrestling Federation. At the same time, he became one of his own brand's biggest superstars as the Vanilla Bean. He went on to headline his company's then-biggest event, SummerSlamboree. In 1999, the GWF hit bigger heights due to the media-infused feud between Triple J (another main eventer) and himself.
