Greg Poppleton

Greg Poppleton worked in heavy industry before beginning his acting career on radio, stage and ultimately, film. He grew up in Sydney, Australia, the fourth of five children to Bert, a bus driver, and Aileen (Stapleton), a shop worker. He is of English and Irish ancestry. After being top of his school, Christian Brothers Burwood, he won a scholarship to attend his final two years of high school at the selective Fort Street High School in Sydney. Poppleton has an honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in Communications, with a writing and textual theory major, from the University of Technology, Sydney. He was discovered in a cattle call for a kids program and made his movie debut in a scene with Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge! (2001).
