Biography

Kim Yu was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has worked in the entertainment industry for almost three decades having started as a print journalist before moving into publicity and marketing and eventually into production management and producing. She wrote for Toronto and GTA newspapers (including a weekly column for Metroland) before ending up in advertising and subsequently doing publicity for stand-up comedians. She later worked at C/FP Distribution and at Norstar Entertainment handling everything from corporate PR, release and unit publicity to international marketing for various television/film projects. Her focus was art-house films including publicity for the Canadian releases of Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom, Terry Zwigoff's Crumb, Living in Oblivion, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Vanya on 42nd Street and Safe.
