Biography

Jonathan Wrather was born in Cheshire in the north of England on 16th March 1969. He went to Sedbergh School in the Lake District, Cumbria. It was here that his passion for drama and theatre began with school trips to the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester and the Dukes Playhouse, Lancaster. Jonathan's passion was encouraged by his English teacher who cast him as Mosca in a school production of Ben Johnson's, Volpone. After this, Jonathan and a school friend mounted their own production of Edward Albee's, Zoo Story, which they performed in the school studio space. When he left school in 1987, Jonathan auditioned for and gained a place at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain in London where he was lucky enough to tour with productions to Moscow and Valencia and performed at London's Bloomsbury Theatre. While at the National Youth Theatre, Jonathan twice auditioned for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His persistence paid off and he was offered a place on the 3 year Acting cours
