Biography

Joe Whyte began his professional acting career in 1982 after attending California State University-Northridge, as a Theater student. He began performing with an improv comedy sketch group called The Left Fielders, comprised of a group of friends from CSUN. This led to a lifelong love of improv comedy, and he went on to perform with Comedysportz Los Angeles, the highly acclaimed musical/comedy improv group The Impromptones and, in 2000, the music/comedy group The Newtonics with Jeff Bryan Davis (Whose Line Is It Anyway? (1998)), all based out of Hollywood, California. During the 1980s and 1990s Whyte also appeared in numerous plays and musicals in and around the Los Angeles area, along with appearances in several TV sitcoms and soap operas, most notably The Drew Carey Show (1995), Sports Night (1998), General Hospital (1963), Miss Match (2003) ands Rodney (2004).
