Biography

Paul was born in the late Cenozoic Era, in Newton, Massachusetts, home of the stars. His parents were working at Boston's specialty grocer S.S. Pierce, his dad as a traveling salesman and his mom as a "Candy Girl," when they married and had Paul. Amid a childhood spent riding bikes, building forts and playing in the town dump, he dreamed of making his mark as an actor like fellow Newtonites Robert Preston, Betty Davis and Leonard Nimoy. After a variety of short-lived careers including forester, TV film critic (3 Emmy nominations), hockey goalie, newspaper reporter, psychic's assistant and college custodian (Matt Damon is from Newton, too!), Paul received a Masters degree in Theatre from the Trinity Rep. Conservatory and Rhode Island College.
