Biography

Born December 8, 1970 in Lexington, Mississippi, Chauncey B. Raglin-Washington moved with his parents to the south side of Chicago in 1971. He had a promising swimming and track career in High School. After dropping out of Florida A&M University in 1991, he returned to Chicago and attended Columbia College. He tried his hand at stand-up comedy, however when a fellow student at Columbia told him about an acting audition, he decided to try out. Jane Brody, a casting agent, thought he was too old for the role but told him to pursue acting full-time. He landed the lead roles for over twenty stage plays, four national commercials and two guest-leading roles in primetime series. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. After virtually no success, his mother convinced him to write screenplays. By the autumn of 2001 he had written 27.
