Biography

Dean Stewart is a native Californian born in Pomona and raised in Pasadena. As a junior and senior at Pasadena High School, he played lead roles in the senior-class theatre productions and was hooked. The following year, at Pasadena City College, he played Eugene Marchbanks in George Bernard Shaw's Candida. Dean's career as an actor has included more than twenty-five guest-star/co-star roles. His training includes The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute with teachers Peggy Feury and Bill Traylor, The Actors Studio where since 1976 he has continued his study as a lifetime member, The Groundlings, The Second City, and UCB. In 2006, Dean graduated with honors from Santa Monica College with a major in Theatre. Acting at SMC included multiple roles in both The Laramie Project and Cabaret. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa while at SMC he won the national PTK Citation scholarship for his short story Pain. The story was published in the PTK Nota Bene literary journal.
