Biography

“You have to be OK with your own fears. If you're an honest person, you'll make mistakes, but that's when the most interesting things happen”. Kristen Stewart is an American actress, screenwriter, and director who has been closely connected to the world of cinema from a young age. The daughter of parents involved in the industry, she began acting early and made her feature film debut in The Safety of Objects (2001). A year later, she gained recognition for her performance in Panic Room (2002), directed by David Fincher. She rose to worldwide fame playing Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga (2008–2012), but after achieving commercial stardom, she redirected her career toward independent cinema. Over the years, she became a key figure in that field, with standout performances in films such as Clouds of Sils Maria (2014), Personal Shopper (2016), and Spencer (2021), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. During this transition, Stewart also chose projects that resonated with her queer identity. In 2025, she made her directorial debut with an adaptation of The Chronology of Water, the memoir by writer Lidia Yuknavitch. Authentic and unpredictable, Kristen Stewart has made artistic freedom the core of her career.
