Biography

Robert Steinman Elden was born in New York City, son of Danny Steinmann and Paula Klein. He was adopted and raised by his father David A. Elden, who died in 2021. Robert Steinman Elden didn't discover acting and writing until college, where at, the University of Pennsylvania he received his B.A. in English Literature and Film Studies. His first play, "Night Café," received a Judy Lee Award nod for dramatic writing while Mr. Elden was a student. He studied filmmaking at Tisch School of the Arts (at NYU) where he wrote, directed, and starred in several student films. He later went on to graduate from the Actor's Studio New School for Social Research's M.F.A. program in writing and acting. While still in school, Robert Steinman Elden began his professional career appearing in "Sex and the City" and "The Visitors." Mr. Elden's latest television pilot, "Sensitive Men," has been recently completed which he wrote and starred in as well as an upcoming feature film shooting at the end of 2022.
