Biography

Hanala Sagal is a screenwriter and co-exec producer of "Elvis & Nixon", the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival Centerpiece. The award-winning writer is a Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based comedian, singer, artist and activist. Hanala produced Cable TV's "Shape Up L.A!" as Suzan Stadner (1983-2000) creating the first vlog. On YouTube since 2007, Hanala's "Comedy Wellness" channel has 500M minutes watched. "Traumaland," the screenplay adaptation of her book, is an animated adult comedy. A Finalist in the PAGE Screenwriting Awards and a 2017 Nominee for the Hedy Lamarr Award for Innovation in Entertainment Technology, Hanala has appeared as an expert and an actress in over 100 TV shows and movies. Her best-selling memoir, "My Parents Went Through the Holocaust and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt," is studied in schools and is featured in "The Last Laugh" (Tribeca Spotlight Film, 2016.) Hanala wrote "The Lost Cell Phone Blues" and sings with the Traumaland Band.
