Biography

Nicholas More Seymour is most notably known as one third of antipodean rock band 'Crowded House'. Nick, the youngest of four, was born in Benalla, Australia to secondary school humanities teachers Frank and Paula Seymour. The Seymour family moved house regularly throughout rural Victoria as his parents sought seniority-promotion in the State Education system. Nick's mother Paula, an avid Irish traditional music fan taught her children 'harmony and round' so that 'The Seymour Family Singers' bonded and readied the family to engage in regular 'Sing Songs' at weddings, parties anything. His siblings, Hilary, Helen and Mark all learned Piano and guitar. Mark later formed and fronted the rock band 'Hunters and Collectors'. During the late seventies Nick, who had decided early that he wanted an art school training, attended Caulfield Institute and then The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne majoring in Printmaking.
