Biography

Actor and comedian Thom Sharp is from Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. He is well known for his voice-over work and as "that bald guy in the ad for...". He went to Dearborn's Sacred Heart High. Thom later attended Henry Ford Community College and received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree in communication from Wayne State. As of this writing he lives in Sherman Oaks, California. Thom has worked for the D.W. Doner advertising agency (along with "Cathy" comic strip creator Cathy Guisewite) in Detroit and later for BBDO's office in Los Angeles. He had a local hit in Detroit in 1977 with the song "They Don't Make Nun Names Like That No More" and also he wrote "I Don't Know Whether to Kill Myself or Go Bowling." Thom is well known for his ads for Goodyear tires in Canada, Ziploc bags, GE, Buick, and the CompUSA ads he did with fellow comedian Jack Riley.
