Jennia Fredrique Aponte is an award-winning writer/director known for her unique visual style and bold vision, particularly in the areas of production and costume design." Born in Gary Indiana, Jennia studied filmmaking at Columbia University & Art at the Art Institute in Chicago. Out of over a thousand submissions, Jennia was one of only 15 selected to be part of the highly competitive Sony Director's Program, a year-long directing intensive which allowed her to apprentice under several esteemed directors including Randall Einhorn (while he was originating the 70's themed series The Kids Are Alright). " Jennia's first two short films, Sacred Heart and 90 DAYS, were accepted into many prestigious film festivals including Cannes and SXSW. 90 DAYS, a film about the stigma around HIV, is hailed as "a cinematic piece of art that confronts the human experience of overcoming one of life's greatest perceived challenges" and has garnered multiple awards including an African Academy Award."
