Biography

Leonard Webster was born in Fife, Scotland, UK. After getting a law degree at Edinburgh University, he went to Paris to study mime and movement with Jacques Lecoq. Since then he has appeared in many repertory theatres around Britain including Sheffield Crucible, Manchester Royal Exchange and Alan Ayckbourn's Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. In 1999 he played Egeon in Comedy of Errors and Odysseus in The Odyssey for Aquila Theatre Co, touring America. Television credits include two Screen 2 films with Les Blair- Honest, Decent and True & the BAFTA winning News Hounds. Other TV work includes The Bill, Brookside, Waiting For God and Two Point Four Children. In 2002, several weeks after completing filming on an episode of BBC drama In Deep, a partial thyroidectomy resulted in the paralysis of one of his vocal cords, effectively ending his acting career. He re-trained as an application developer and now lives and works in the USA.
