Biography

Tom was six when he first became really interested in acting. He was living near Liverpool at the time and began acting classes there. Within a very few weeks he had his first professional role, as Brian, in Tuppence To Cross the Mersey, in a Liverpool theatre. By the time he was eight he had enjoyed acting in several professional theatre productions, including playing Tiny Tim opposite 'Richard Todd' (Scrooge) in A Christmas Carol. He moved to Newcastle at the age of nine and joined a local acting group at the Tyne Theatre and whilst acting in a local college's production an agent saw him and asked Tom to join his agency which for a boy of ten was very exciting. Tom continued to enjoy acting both at school and at his two acting groups, Tyne Theatre and Stagecoach, Durham. He was lucky because both these groups and his agent sent him on auditions. Over the next year he did various acting roles before getting his first TV role in a Catherine Cookson called Catherine Cookson's Tilly Tro
