Biography

P.W. Wade made his debut in the world of entertainment in 1988 after founding the hip hop group Pete's Posse with Disney Television executive producer Joel Trussell. As one of the first rap groups to feature a Caucasian emcee, they broke a multitude of barriers in the late '80s and early '90s, recording and touring in the Southeastern United States until their separation in 1994. As a self-taught filmmaker who started organizing feature-length home video productions as early as 1989, his official directorial debut finally took place with the Nashville release of Takin' It BACK to the Streets in 1998. Throughout the 2000s, Wade made a name for himself in numerous film competitions as an award-winning director, writer and editor with such independent releases as Oneonta Road (2004) and Abandon (2007).
