Biography

Born in Poland. Grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. Started making shorts when he was 11 years old. Attended Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Michigan. Graduated from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts in 1993. His short film, Silent Rain, garnered a Student Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as well as a Student Emmy and the CINE Golden Eagle which made it available for audiences worldwide. Started in the business as Nick Reed's assistant in the mopic lit department at ICM in Beverly Hills. Worked several years for Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner as an assistant and then development executive from 1996 through 1999 at their Paramount-based production company. Apprenticed for three years under executive producer Nena Rodrigue at Touchstone TV (a division of ABC and the Walt Disney Company) where they shot six pilots.
