Patrick Tubach

Patrick Tubach joined Industrial Light & Magic in 1999 as a compositor. During his time at the company, he has taken on roles of increasing scope and responsibility and now serves as Visual Effects Supervisor. Tubach graduated summa cum laude from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS, with a BA in Communications, and although much of his schooling centered on creative writing and journalism, his lifelong interest in film led him to Los Angeles, where he began his visual effects career at Kodak's Cinesite. As digital effects grew more sophisticated, Tubach soon made the transition from roto and paint artist to compositing. In that marriage of photography and CG, he found a genuine affinity and passion for the artistry of digital effects. As a Visual Effects Supervisor at ILM, Tubach is responsible for working with other key creatives throughout the visual effects process, from bidding to final delivery of work on a film.
