Biography

Screenwriter Bruce Trampler is also a Hall of Fame boxing matchmaker and former Major League baseball player agent. He graduated with a journalism degree from Ohio University in Athens (alma mater of director Betty Thomas, writer Joe Eszterhas, and actors Ed O'Neill, Piper Perabo, and Paul Newman). He went to Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, the alma mater of Zach Braff, Elisabeth and Andrew Shue, Lauryn Hill, Roy Scheider, Dan Farah, and 1943 Academy Award winner Teresa Wright. Upon graduation, Bruce worked for boxing manager Angelo Dundee, who handled Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. While working at New York's Madison Square Garden, Bruce was the matchmaker for boxer Tony Danza, before he became an actor. Bruce is now boxing matchmaker for promoter Bob Arum's Top Rank, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he helped guide the careers of Oscar De La Hoya, George Foreman, Manny Pacquiao, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Johnny Tapia, Buster Douglas, Ray (Boom Boom) M
