Biography

As a student, she gained media experience by appearing on WDR radio together with Marius Müller-Westernhagen. She attended high school and graduated from high school. She then trained at the Bochum Drama School from 1971 to 1974. This was followed by five semesters of studying German and fine arts. Sabine Postel made her debut as an actress at the Oldenburg State Theater. This was followed by engagements at the stages in the city of Essen and at the Cologne Theater. At the same time, she worked as a radio play and voice actress. In the early 1980s she switched to television and gained wider fame. In 1982 she started her television career with the film "The Task of Dr. Graefe". Four years later she appeared in the lead role in the television film "The Proposal" directed by Rolf Busch. For this, the artist not only received a lot of critical praise, but also the Jakob Kaiser Prize in the "Best Television Program" category, which was awarded by the Federal Ministry for Pan-German Issues.
