Tim Pope is famous for his unique and thought-provoking promotional music videos played on MTV in the 1980s, for such bands as Talk Talk, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Soft Cell, The Style Council and others; however, he is best known for being UK's goth-rock group The Cure's almost exclusive director when it came to making their promotional music videos. Pope has directed more videos for The Cure than any other band, with a whopping 21 total! He also directed a Cure concert in France that was released as The Cure in Orange (1987); to this day it remains a hard-to-find cult classic. In August 2004 the illustrious Pope directed Fatboy Slim's "Slash Dot Dash", which became an Internet hit after it was released on the band's website. He won the "Outstanding Achievement Award" at the 2004 CADS Music Vision Awards.
