Biography

A native Ohioan, Lew Sleeman is an actor and singer known for The Lost Platoon, Picket Fences, Running Mates and Unsolved Mysteries. Lead vocalist for a number of early Rock and Roll bands in the 1960's, Lew got the acting bug, appearing in a number of local and regional plays and musicals. Moving to Los Angeles in the early 1970's, he worked for Filmation Studios while developing his acting skills in a number of workshops and performances. In the late 1990's he returned to Ohio to be closer to family. He continues to appear in films, television and occasionally plays. He is the lead singer for the Kokosing River Surf Club, a band specializing in classic Rock and Roll, Blues, and Jazz. In May 2017 he received the Best Actor award at the Southern Ohio Film Festival for his sensitive portrayal of "Joe", a father in the early stages of dementia in the 48-Hour Film Project short film Little Ann.
