Alison Peebles

Biography

Alison Peebles trained as a painter at Edinburgh College of Art and co-founded the Scottish theatre company Communicado in 1983 with Gerry Mulgrew and Rob Pickavance. On stage, she played Lady Macbeth in a 1993 Tron Theatre production directed by Michael Boyd. Her career spans theatre, film, television, and radio. She directed the feature film AfterLife, which received the Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2003. In 2006, she appeared in the BBC Scotland documentary Multiple, in which she disclosed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
