Biography
Ruben Santiago-Hudson recently directed the world premiere of his play Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine at The Two River Theater and the world premiere of Dominique Morriseau's Paradise Blue at Williamstown Theater Festival. Other credits include The Piano Lesson (Lucille Lortel, Joseph A. Callaway, Audelco, OBIE), The Happiest Song Plays Last (Second Stage), and My Children My Africa, Seven Guitars, and The First Breeze of Summer at Signature Theater where he served as Associate Artist of the season dedicated to the Negro Ensemble Company. Regionally, Ruben has directed at A.C.T. San Francisco, The Two River Theater Company, The McCarter Theater, and The Kennedy Center. His screenplay Lackawanna Blues garnered numerous awards including The Humanitas Prize, National Board of Reviews, NAACP Image Award, and The Christopher Award, and nominations for an Emmy, Golden Globe, and WGA.
