Richard Roxburgh trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art after completing undergraduate studies and began his professional work with the Sydney Theatre Company and Belvoir St Theatre, performing in stage productions that included classical and contemporary texts. He transitioned between live performance and screen, with roles in television dramas and international film projects that expanded his presence across media. Roxburgh also undertook filmmaking, directing his first feature and engaging in television series as co-creator and actor. His stage work continued with collaborations in ensemble theatre and productions that toured nationally and internationally, including a Broadway season. He contributed voice work to animated projects and participated in television documentaries and series produced with national and international partners.
