Biography

Known simply as Otis in the camera world, Michael "Otis" Ropert was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. In 1993 he was brought to Los Angeles as a camera intern by cinematographer James Glennon, (son of Bert Glennon, John Ford's Director of Photography). Over the years he worked his way up the ladder, from film loader to second assistant to first assistant and finally realizing his goal of becoming a camera operator on shows such as "The Shield", "Huff", "Glee", "The Muppets" and "Zeke and Luther". He has also worked as Director of Photography on the short comedy horror film "Augustine - Killer Toy Robots", which won Best Horror Short at the 2015 Calgary Horror Con, as well as the viral Youtube commercial spoof "Banned Grey Poupon Ad"...which has racked up over 4.5 million views.
